NATO Nations to Support Disruptive Innovations with a EUR70 million Fund
According to officials, NATO’s recent plans to foster the new technologies that its militaries require will include the establishment of a new system and offices on both sides of the Atlantic to liaise with the private industry, as well as a long-term innovation EUR70 million Fund per year.
The two-pronged strategy was agreed upon by alliance leaders during their summit on June 14 in Brussels. During a press conference on June 22, NATO’s Assistant Secretary-General for Emerging Security Challenges, David van Weel, discussed the upcoming NATO Innovation Fund and its distinct Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic.
