Iran’s FM requests Turkmenistan execute agreements

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks at a meeting with his visiting Turkmen colleague Raşit Meredow in Tehran on Tuesday.
He extended his congratulations on Turkmenistan’s recent presidential elections and emphasized the importance of his trip to Tehran today to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the two countries’ establishment of relations.
In terms of Iran-Turkmenistan diplomatic, fiscal, and cultural projects, he noted that the two countries have three key areas of collaboration this year, including the 17th Joint Economic Commission, the 15th Joint Consular and Border Commission, and the formation of a working group for political discussions between the two ministries.
Meanwhile, Meredow said that Turkmenistan’s President’s visit to Tehran indicates the country’s high desire for developing ties with Iran.
The Turkmen government has prepared a variety of agreements and initiatives for this visit, with the goal of making them operational.
Both sides saw the Caspian Sea as a sea of kindness, peace, and tranquillity that requires everyone’s cooperation to preserve its safety and stability, as well as its unique environment.
Other subjects discussed by the two sides were regional problems such as Afghanistan and developments in Central Asia’s neighboring countries.
