Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defence, is also holding bilateral sessions during NATO’s extraordinary meeting of Defense Ministers.
In this regard, Minister Akar initially met with Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand, followed by a bilateral discussion with his Greek counterpart Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos.
Following the meeting in Istanbul between President Recep Tayyip Erdoan and Greek Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis, the Turkish and Greek defence ministers conducted a bilateral meeting. Both ministers highlighted the significance of international law and the need of keeping conversation channels open and concentrating on a positive agenda for good neighbourly relations and bilateral and regional collaboration.
Both sides agreed that the fourth Confidence Building Measures Meeting should take place in Ankara as quickly as possible.
